Based in the City of London, the Company holds the esteemed 55th position in seniority among the City of London Livery Companies, reflecting its rich heritage.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Farrier Examiner to join our examination team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the assessment and certification of farriers while being part of the long-standing traditions of a City of London Livery Company. The Worshipful Company of Farriers is an Ofqual approved Awarding Organisation and End Point Assessment and currently delivers examinations as part of the Associate (Level 5) and Fellowship (Level 6).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations of farriers to evaluate their skills and knowledge in hoof care and shoeing techniques.
- Develop and implement examination criteria and standards in line with industry best practices.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to farriers to enhance their professional development.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in farriery and equine health to ensure examinations reflect current practices.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders to promote farrier education and certification programs.
Qualifications:
- Registered farrier with extensive experience in the field, holding the Fellowship WCF.
- Strong understanding of equine anatomy, hoof care, and shoeing techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in examination or teaching roles would be beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
